Who is a Coach-Mentor?
A coach-mentor has the experience, personality, approach, and demeanor that our clients feel most comfortable with. A coach-mentor is relationship-oriented, has a unique ability to connect with others, and is a creative problem solver.
What are the qualifications and skills of a Coach-Mentor?
- Coach-mentors have varying levels of formal education, including college degrees and relevant work and personal life experience helping individuals achieve success.
- Coach-mentors are easy to talk to, have an easy-going personality and are encouraging, empathetic and at the same time have that innate ability to genuinely be supportive.
- Coach-mentors are flexible and highly dependable, with a strong sense of personal integrity.
- Coach-mentors are experienced and genuinely care about helping individuals reach their goals.
How is this different from therapy?
- Coach-Mentors meets their clients at home or in the community, wherever it is practical and helpful.
- Coach-Mentors do not just talk about what needs to change; we help our clients take action and put into practice the goals they are talking about in therapy
- It is more personal, comfortable, and practical.
- Our goal is to support the work our clients are doing in therapy by providing real-life support between therapy sessions.
- Coach-Mentors also provides more frequent support, anywhere from two sessions per week up to intensive levels of support each day.
What can my coach-mentor help with?
Almost anything! We help with formal therapeutic work such as exposure work or DBT skills, as well as more practical goals such as finding a job or becoming more confident in social situations.

Where do you have Coach-Mentor services available? How do I find out if you work in a particular town or city?
We can serve clients almost anywhere in the US! To date, we have served clients in 23 states.
Because we select a coach-mentor specifically for each client, we do not need to be already providing service in a specific geographic area.
How often do clients meet with their coach-mentor?
The level of service is personalized. Some clients meet with their coach-mentors two, three or four times per week, while others receive more intensive support, such as 14 hours a week (2 hours each day), or any number of hours that is needed (i.e. 20, 30 or more hours per week), and we have also provided live-in support (24/7)
How long do clients work with their mentor?
Typically, our minimum length of support is four months, while the average is about eight months. We have had clients who continued to work with their coach-mentor for several years.
I don’t have a therapist, but I’m interested in the services anyway. Can you support me without a therapist?
Yes! We understand that at times, clients experience treatment exhaustion. Coach-Mentors will continue to provide support for clients that are either not yet connected with a therapist or are in between providers or who are seeing their therapist virtually.
There are times as well when Coach-Mentors continue to support client progress and growth, long after formal therapy has concluded.
I’m not sure I need to increase the amount of therapy I’m getting every week…
Coach-Mentors are not therapists and don’t add “more therapy”. They are not meant to replace or be a substitute for a therapist either. Coach-Mentors are a complement to therapy or a practical add-on to therapy. We help clients achieve therapeutic goals between sessions with your therapist. The focus is on practical achievement and getting things done.
